Sky Shark is owned by Jason Harlow of
Springfield, MO. Built in 1991 (coincidentally the same year Jason first
crewed and rode in a balloon) by Cameron Balloons US. Sky Shark stands
an impressive 70 feet tall when fully inflated. It's dual burners
produce over 30 million BTU's. During Sky Shark's former life as a
corporate balloon for Kodak, it traveled to various places across the
United States including the Daytona 500, the Atlanta Motor Speedway, and
Central Park in New York City.
Jason first earned his pilot's certificate at the age of 17, and at the
time was one of the youngest balloon pilots in the nation. He has logged
over 400 accident free hours in the air flying balloons ranging in size
from 1 man cloudhoppers all the way up to 12 person passenger balloons,
and has also flown special shapes. He has flown in 3 countries, and even
crossed an international border in a balloon.
Jason offers chartered
balloon rides and instruction and is the founder and co-owner of Tropical Waterscapes based in
Springfield, which specializes in the installation and maintenance of
decorative water features. In his free time he enjoys photography,
saltwater aquariums, storm chasing, hockey, and gardening. He has 2 dogs,
Apollo and Athena, and a pet duck named Lily. |
